Update November 25. We have been assessing the brother and sister for a few months now and have agreed with Corinna that Salih and Sidoni are a bonded pair and so will be looking for a home to go to together. Salih, the male, is the more confident of the 2, and both are now very loving and cuddly with their human caregiver, they love to be petted and come to Corinna to greet her with affection. They walk well on the lead but are unreliable with cats, so a home with no small furries is needed. Although they don't have any problems with any of the other dogs, neither of them seek out the company of others or try to play with them, rather choosing to cuddle up together and play with each other. We feel they will make adorable additions to a home, ideally without other animals, or would be fine with a resident dog who was self contained and not looking for interaction or a playmate. While we know finding a home for a bonded pair is a bigger challenge, we simply can't separate them when they clearly rely on each other so much.
Update - July 2025 Salih & Sidoni have arrived with Corinna. Still quite shy and nervous of the other dogs but they get on great with each other. We hope in the next few weeks they will start to come out of their shell and see more of their personality and confidence emerge. Due to the Tenerife shelter Salih & Sidoni were in being taken over, we made the decision to bring them and 3 others over to our residencia in Spain, so they are now officially PINS dogs, keeping their paws crossed that they won't wait too long for the golden tickets. We will continue to share some of the dogs in the Tenerife shelters because they have even less chance of being adopted than those in mainland Spain. Also, in Pacita's memory, we must always try to help the Tenerife dogs. We will be sharing a few Podencos, but have also been asked to share a couple of pointer types and, as they are fairly similar to.pods in nature, we feel we can offer effective rescue back up for them. Salih is a calm and balanced dog, affectionate with people and sociable with other dogs. He doesn't know anything other than living in a cage. He was born at the shelter. Sidoni is somewhat afraid of noises and people she doesn't know. She is a girl with more energy than her brother, and she has more of the Pointer breed in her blood.
