UPDATE Aug 25 - We are delighted to see that Max is coming out of his shell more now and isn't the terrified soul he was. He is now happy to come up for a stroke or a treat. He likes the company of the other dogs - Thai is his special friend, but he still takes himself off out of the mix if there's a lot of rambunctious play going on. So we would definitely like a home for Max where there is at least one other friendly confident dog to help build up his trust. More dogs are fine, as long as they don't overwhelm him. We'd say too probably no young children as I imagine the noise and unpredictability of them would scare him. He is a totally beautiful dog - look at his cute wee thumbprint on his head! We have had Max in residencia near Alicante for a few months now and hadn't really updated him. He is a beautiful medium/large podenco who is under 2 years old and we took him on as he was being dumped by the hunter, likely because he is a nervous boy. Max really isn't doing too well in kennels as he is so very timid around people and there is not the opportunity there for people to work with him on a one to one. Max really needs a loving home or foster with someone who is experienced with nervous dogs and who has at least one other resident friendly confident dog to help teach him how to relax and start to trust. It's too sad having such young dogs growing up in kennels and spending their life being frightened.
