About Fiona

Update 22/1/25 - Fiona is gaining confidence all the time and is now very happy to get cuddles and treats from a human she knows and trusts. She is still quite a nervous little lady though, especially around traffic, so she will need to be homed in a quieter location so that she can learn to walk on the lead without being terrified of everything going on around her. She is also car sick at the moment (seen on vet visits), but often this is anxiety based and gets better once they are in a home and start to see that a trip in the car may mean a fun walk somewhere. She is very confident in the residencia now and shows this by climbing the gates and fences to explore round about (we are assured she always comes back!) So we need a secure garden or an undertaking to always have her on lead until she is fully settled somewhere. Fiona gets on fine with the other dogs, but does seem interested in the cat so probably best to be a cat-free home .
Fiona is a lovely little 5 year old podenca - probably a cross, who came into PINS care a few weeks ago with her puppy Luke. They were unwanted and mum was chained up so we were asked to help. They have gone into resi with the lovely Corinna who has already seen Fiona start to blossom with kindness.
Fiona is still feeding Luke a bit (although he's now over 3 months so time for that young man to stand on his own 4 paws!) For this reason, we haven't had her spayed yet, but this will be done in January.
Fiona is full of mischief (they both are), and runs around playing, trying to climb walls and pulling each other's collars off. So you can see she will need a lively home where she can have lots of mental and physical stimulation. She's going to make a truly wonderful addition to someone's family
